Two Types of Online Board of Directors Self-Assessment
It is a great responsibility to help govern a nonprofit organization. Boards of Directors have legal and fiduciary oversight and are tasked with setting strategic direction; it isn't always an easy job! A Board of Directors Self-Assessment can help a nonprofit board determine how it is currently performing and identify areas for possible improvement. Phil-Com offers a Board of Directors Self-Assessments in two ways. Both begin with board members taking an anonymous online survey (Phil-Com will work with the nonprofit to make sure the survey questions address any specific areas of concern).
1. Online assessment with in-person session follow up:
First: Nonprofit contacts Phil-Com at 941.201.9657 or tvanderneck@phil-com.com to discuss the nonprofit's goals and objectives for Board of Directors Self-Assessment and for pricing. The nonprofit provides Phil-Com with the email address of each board member to whom the online assessment should be sent. Phil-Com emails a link to the assessment to the board members. Once the responses are in, Phil-Com will compile the results of the assessments and will provide a detailed report of the findings.
Second: Phil-Com will facilitate a two-hour training/discussion session on-site with the nonprofit's Board of Directors and executive staff. Phil-Com will share the assessment results, discuss best practices, and work with the nonprofit to identify areas for improvement. This is generally an very positive and eye-opening experience for the board. Contact us today to get started! tvanderneck@phil-com.com.

2. Online Only*
Nonprofit purchases an online self assessment through this web site and provides Phil-Com with the email addresses of each board member to whom the nonprofit would like the assessment sent. Phil-Com emails a link to the detailed self-assessment to the board members. Once results are in, Phil-Com will email the raw data/answers in an easy-to-read graphic format and will include an Executive Summary of the results.
*If after they've completed the online only assessment the nonprofit decides it would like to do the on-site session as well, they can add it on and schedule it by calling 941.201.9657 or emailing tvanderneck@phil-com.com
